Harvey Weinstein has filed a lawsuit against his brother, Bob Weinstein, and former executives of The Weinstein Company, alleging they deceived him into personally guaranteeing a $45 million loan in 2016.
He claims that instead of using the funds to support the company, they misappropriated significant amounts for personal gain, leading to the company’s financial collapse and his own legal and financial troubles. Specifically, Weinstein accuses Bob of withdrawing at least $6 million and former Chief Operating Officer David Glasser of awarding himself $5 million in bonuses and paying his father $1 million without justification.
Weinstein seeks to absolve himself from the loan’s financial liability and is pursuing punitive damages for the alleged fraud. Bob Weinstein’s attorney has dismissed these allegations as entirely without merit.
