Tonye Cole, the 2023 Rivers State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused Nyesom Wike, Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Rivers State governor, of working to weaken the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Cole asserted that Wike’s actions to undermine his former party are no longer a secret.
He referenced Wike’s public alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling APC, despite his PDP membership during his tenure as governor.
According to Cole, Wike’s recent activities, including influencing PDP structures in Rivers State and fostering divisions, point to a calculated effort to destabilize the party at both state and national levels.
Wike, a known critic of the PDP leadership under Atiku Abubakar, has often been accused of playing a dual political role since leaving office.
This claim by Tonye Cole further highlights the ongoing political intrigues surrounding Wike’s affiliations and their impact on Nigeria’s political landscape.
