Wilfried Zaha has joined Major League Soccer’s Charlotte FC on loan from Galatasaray. The 32-year-old Ivorian forward will be with the club until January 2026, with an option to extend the loan until June 2026.
Zaha, who will occupy a Designated Player spot, brings a wealth of experience from his time in the English Premier League, notably with Crystal Palace, where he amassed 100 goals and 59 assists in 524 professional matches. Charlotte FC’s general manager, Zoran Krneta, expressed enthusiasm about Zaha’s arrival, highlighting his world-class talent and versatility.
The move to Charlotte FC offers Zaha an opportunity to rejuvenate his career after a challenging stint at Lyon, where he made limited appearances. He will reunite with former Premier League manager Dean Smith and join forces with ex-Burnley midfielder Ashley Westwood. Charlotte FC’s MLS campaign kicks off on February 22 against the Seattle Sounders.
