The Zamfara State House of Assembly is mourning the loss of Hon. Aminu Ibrahim Kasuwar-Daji, who represented the Kaura Namoda South Constituency. He reportedly passed away in his sleep during the early hours of Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State expressed deep sorrow over his sudden demise. In a statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, the APC described Kasuwar-Daji as a dedicated, honest, and God-fearing individual who served his constituency and humanity with passion. The party extended heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the people of Kaura Namoda South, and members of the state assembly, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Hon. Kasuwar-Daji was laid to rest at 3:00 pm on the same day in his hometown of Kasuwar-Daji, located in the Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
Federal lawmaker Rt. Hon. Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji, representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, also mourned the loss, describing it as a monumental loss to Zamfara State. He extended condolences to the late lawmaker’s family, colleagues, and constituents, praying for Allah’s mercy upon him.
This incident marks another loss for the Zamfara State House of Assembly, following the deaths of other members in recent years. In June 2021, Muhammad Ahmad, representing Shinkafi, was killed in a bandit attack, and in January 2022, Ibrahim Na’iddah, representing Gusau East, passed away after a protracted illness.
