Security operatives in Zamfara State have arrested a suspect, Ashiru Jijji, for allegedly supplying soft drinks and other provisions to armed bandits operating in the region. The arrest was made by members of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards during a routine patrol in a bandit-prone area.
According to reports, Jijji was intercepted while transporting cartons of soft drinks and other supplies intended for bandits in remote forest hideouts. Upon interrogation, he confessed to regularly providing these items to specific bandit groups.
Jijji is currently in custody and is expected to be handed over to relevant security agencies for further investigation and possible prosecution. This arrest underscores the critical role of community-led security initiatives in disrupting the supply chains that sustain criminal networks in the state.
