Armed Bandits Target Travelers in Zamfara: Security Concerns Rise

Armed bandits recently blocked a major highway in Zamfara State, killing a police officer and abducting several travelers, including an expatriate.

The attack occurred on the Tsafe-Funtua road, where the bandits ambushed travelers, shooting at vehicles and seizing passengers.

Among the abducted were workers from a construction firm, with the expatriate being taken alongside other travelers.

Security forces, including police and military units, responded after nearly two hours to clear the road and restore order​.
