Zamfara Lecturer and Son Released from Bandits’ Hold

After a Month: Zamfara Family Reunited Post-Kidnapping

On February 20, 2025, Malam Aliyu Damri, the former Head of the Mass Communication Department at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, and his son were released after spending one month in captivity. They were abducted from their residence in Bakura town, Zamfara State, along with six others.

The family’s statement confirmed their release but did not disclose whether a ransom was paid or if they were rescued by security forces. The family expressed gratitude for their freedom and prayed for Aliyu Damri’s swift recovery from the ordeal.
