PDP Turmoil: Wike’s Controversial Remarks on Ex-Senate President Wabara
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticized Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, stating that he would have disowned Wabara if he were his father.
Wike accused Wabara of contributing to the ongoing crisis within the PDP and questioned his leadership qualities. He referenced former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s past allegations of corruption against Wabara to support his claims.
Wike expressed disapproval of certain PDP leaders’ attempts to remove Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and National Secretary Sam Anyanwu, despite existing court rulings.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to the party’s constitution and due process, stating that any resignations should be followed by elections. Wike urged party members to focus on resolving internal issues and preparing for the upcoming convention in December, rather than inciting further crises.
