Portable’s Legal Battle: Not Guilty Plea in Assault Case
On February 20, 2025, Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was arraigned before an Ogun State Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, on a five-count charge. The charges include conspiracy, assault, possession of weapons, and conduct likely to cause harm.
These allegations stem from an incident where Portable and his associates allegedly assaulted officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
Portable pleaded not guilty to all charges. His counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, requested bail, assuring the court of Portable’s remorse and commitment to attend all trial proceedings. Presiding Magistrate O.L. Oke granted bail set at ₦2 million, with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case to March 5, 2025, for trial.
The court also cautioned Portable against discussing the case on social media or engaging in any actions that could lead to public disturbance.
