Rapper Fivio Foreign Faces Jail Time for Serious Charges
Brooklyn rapper Fivio Foreign has been incarcerated in a New Jersey jail since January 18, 2025, facing multiple charges including unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, and aggravated assault.
The charges stem from an incident on New Year’s Day in Edgewater, New Jersey, where Fivio allegedly pointed a gun at a woman who had asked for assistance jumpstarting her car. According to police reports, he threatened her, stating, “If I see you parked in front of this building again, there is going to be a f****** problem.” Witnesses recognized Fivio, contacted authorities, and provided statements. Surveillance footage from the apartment complex reportedly corroborates the victim’s account.
Despite these allegations, Fivio’s attorney, Adam Lustberg, contends that the case lacks substantial evidence, noting that no firearm was recovered. Lustberg describes the case as one of the weakest he has encountered in over two decades of legal practice and anticipates Fivio’s release within the next few months.
While incarcerated, Fivio has remained musically active, releasing collaborations recorded prior to his detention.
This is not Fivio’s first encounter with legal issues; in 2021, he was arrested in New Jersey for possession of a loaded firearm and attempting to elude law enforcement.
