The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended suspected cultists in a special operation aimed at clamping down on rising cult-related violence.
During the raid, security operatives recovered ammunition, locally made firearms, and other dangerous weapons believed to have been used in recent attacks. The suspects, whose identities are yet to be disclosed, are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation.
Police authorities assured the public that the culprits will be prosecuted, while reiterating their resolve to rid the state of cultism and restore peace. Residents have also been urged to provide timely information that could aid ongoing security operations.
