Nigeria inflation single digit Presidency
The Presidency has assured Nigerians that the country’s inflation rate, which has remained in double digits for years, will soon decline to single digits as government reforms begin to yield results.
Speaking through the Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, officials said ongoing fiscal and monetary measures are stabilizing prices and restoring confidence in the economy.
The government pointed to interventions such as targeted support for agriculture, increased food production, foreign exchange reforms, and infrastructure investment as steps already reducing inflationary pressures.
“We are confident that, with sustained discipline and transparency, Nigeria will soon join the ranks of economies with single-digit inflation,” the statement read.
However, economic experts have urged caution, noting that while reforms are promising, structural issues like insecurity in farming areas, high energy costs, and supply chain disruptions must also be addressed to ensure lasting price stability.
The assurance comes as Nigerians continue to grapple with the rising cost of living, particularly food and transport expenses.
