Ondo Varsity Student Arrested Over Alleged Drug-Laced Rape Conspiracy
The Ondo State Police have arrested two students at Adekunle Ajasin University, including a 19-year-old woman identified as Queen Sodo, in connection with a disturbing case of conspiracy and rape. Police say the female student invited her longtime friend—another university student—to her apartment and offered her a drink that was later discovered to be laced with drugs. The woman reportedly lost consciousness after taking the drink, at which point the 19-year-old invited a male accomplice into the room and left them alone.
According to the police, the male suspect allegedly carried out the assault while Sodo kept watch outside the door. The assault was exposed when a neighbour heard strange noises and came to investigate. The neighbour found the victim naked and unconscious with the male suspect.
The victim was immediately taken to a hospital for urgent care and later referred to a specialist centre for further treatment. Both suspects have admitted their roles in the alleged crime, and evidence including the bottle used for the drugged drink was seized by the police.
The authorities have confirmed that the suspects are now in custody and will be transferred to a specialised gender desk for detailed investigation and prosecution. The police have warned that no matter how close the relationship between suspects and victims, they will pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law.
