Driver of Overturned Diesel Tanker in Lagos Will Not Go Unpunished — LASTMA Vows After Major Road Incident
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has vowed that the driver of the diesel tanker that overturned on a busy Lagos road will not escape punishment, following the severe disruption and safety hazards caused by the accident.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, resulted in massive gridlock after the fully loaded tanker fell on its side, spilling diesel across the road and forcing emergency responders to shut down parts of the affected route. Commuters were stranded for hours as authorities worked to prevent a potential fire outbreak and clear the hazardous spill.
