Datti Baba-Ahmed Says Party Members May Resist If Atiku or Obi Wins Presidential Ticket
A chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Datti Baba-Ahmed, has stated that there could be internal challenges if either Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi secures a party’s presidential ticket ahead of a future general election.
Speaking during a political discussion, Baba-Ahmed noted that while both Atiku and Obi are prominent political figures with significant followings, their emergence as flagbearers in certain party arrangements could trigger dissatisfaction among other stakeholders.
According to him, the dynamics within political parties often involve competing interests, ambitions, and regional considerations. He suggested that if one dominant figure clinches the presidential ticket, others within the political structure may feel sidelined, potentially creating tension.
