Edo State’s New Era: What Okpebholo’s Leadership Means for the Future
Senator Monday Okpebholo has officially been sworn in as the new governor of Edo State, succeeding Governor Godwin Obaseki, who has completed his two terms in office.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, with Vice President Kashim Shettima representing the Federal Government at the event.
Other notable figures in attendance included governors from various states and prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), such as National Chairman Umar Abdullahi Ganduje and former Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Okpebholo, accompanied by his daughters, took the oath administered by the state’s Chief Judge, while Dennis Idahosa was also sworn in as the Deputy Governor.
This leadership transition marks the end of Obaseki’s administration, with Okpebholo now positioned to direct Edo’s future policies and initiatives.
