Deeone Sets New Benchmark with Epic Longest Stand-Up Comedy Show
Nigerian comedian and entertainer, Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Deeone, has announced plans to attempt the longest stand-up comedy performance in history. The event is scheduled to hold from October 2 to 4, 2025, at Pallazo Lagos, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.
Deeone revealed that the marathon performance will last 40 hours nonstop, an ambitious effort aimed at setting a new Guinness World Record. His announcement has generated excitement among fans and fellow celebrities, with entertainers like Josh2funny, Teddy A, and Tonto Dikeh pledging their support.
In a typical comic fashion, Deeone unveiled the event poster styled like a burial announcement flier, a move that immediately drew attention on social media. The comedian said his motivation is to inspire creativity, showcase resilience, and put Nigerian comedy further on the global stage.
This comes months after Nigerian comedian Dr. Laff Ijuo Albert reportedly completed a 50-hour comedy marathon in Lagos earlier this year, although the performance is still awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records. Deeone’s attempt, however, underscores the growing trend of Nigerian entertainers aiming for international recognition through record-breaking feats.
If successful, Deeone’s performance will not only highlight his endurance and craft but also reinforce Nigeria’s reputation as a hub of outstanding comedic talent.
