Iranian Missile Hits Dubai Airport — One Dead and Seven Injured in UAE Strike
At least one person has been killed and seven others injured after an Iranian missile strike hit the United Arab Emirates, including areas near Dubai International Airport and Zayed International Airport, according to official statements and multiple regional reports.
The fatality and injuries come amid a series of retaliatory strikes by Iran in response to recent joint military actions by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets. Officials from Abu Dhabi Airports confirmed that the strike near Zayed International Airport resulted in one fatality — described in early reports as involving an Asian national — and seven people wounded. The initial post from the airport authority on X was later deleted, but multiple news agencies have cited the incident as connected to the broader Iranian offensive.
Separately, Dubai’s media office said a concourse at Dubai International Airport sustained minor damage during the incident and that four staff members were injured in what authorities described as “an incident,” which was quickly contained. Flights and airport operations in Dubai had already been significantly disrupted due to precautionary measures and airspace restrictions.
Additional impacts included debris falling near the airport terminals and small fires caused by intercepted drone fragments, as confirmed by the Dubai media office and reported in local and international press. Emergency responders were deployed to manage the situation and assist the injured.
The reported missile strikes on UAE aviation infrastructure occurred as part of a wider barrage of Iranian missiles and drones targeting Gulf states — including Qatar and Kuwait — after Tehran vowed retaliation for the earlier US-Israeli strikes on its territory. UAE defence forces said they detected and engaged many of the incoming projectiles, but not all debris was prevented from reaching the ground near populated areas.
