Osun PDP APC clash LG allocations
Tensions have flared in Osun State as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed over the latest release of local government allocations by the Federal Government.
The PDP accused the opposition APC of attempting to politicize the funds and mislead the public about their utilization, insisting that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration has been transparent in managing state finances.
On the other hand, the APC alleged that the PDP-led government has failed to channel the allocations into meaningful development projects across the state’s 30 local government areas.
“The people deserve accountability. What we see instead is wasteful spending and lack of visible impact at the grassroots,” said Osun APC spokesperson, Kola Olabisi.
In response, the PDP countered that the Adeleke government has launched several community-based projects funded through the allocations, urging residents to disregard what it called “propaganda from a desperate opposition.”
Observers say the fresh clash could deepen political rivalry in the state ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
