Sanwo-Olu Rewards 177 Lagos Workers with Five Cars, ₦165.5 Million
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has rewarded 177 outstanding public servants with cash prizes totaling ₦165.5 million and five brand-new cars in recognition of their dedication, integrity, and exceptional service to the state.
The rewards were presented during a ceremony organised by the Lagos State Government to celebrate excellence and productivity within the state’s civil service. Beneficiaries were selected across various ministries, departments, and agencies based on performance, discipline, and commitment to duty.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said the initiative was aimed at motivating public servants to uphold professionalism and deliver quality service to residents. He described the civil service as the backbone of governance and stressed that rewarding excellence remains a key pillar of his administration’s reform agenda.
According to the government, the award categories included outstanding officers of the year, exemplary leadership awards, and special recognition for innovation and long service. Five top-performing officers received cars, while others were rewarded with cash prizes running into millions of naira.
Sanwo-Olu urged civil servants to remain focused, ethical, and innovative, noting that Lagos State would continue to prioritise welfare, training, and career development. He added that merit-based recognition helps to build a more efficient and accountable public service.
