90-Year-Old Man Recounts Narrow Escape as Gunmen Abduct Pregnant Woman in Ondo Community Attack
A 90-year-old man has recounted his narrow escape after gunmen attacked a community in Ondo State, abducting a pregnant woman and leaving residents in fear.
The attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of the day when armed men stormed the community, firing gunshots to scare residents and create confusion. According to eyewitnesses, the assailants moved from house to house before forcefully taking away a pregnant woman whose identity has not yet been officially released.
The elderly man, who spoke to locals after the incident, said he narrowly escaped being harmed by hiding inside his home when he heard gunshots. He described the incident as terrifying, adding that the attackers showed no mercy as they carried out the abduction.
Residents said the gunmen operated for several minutes without resistance before fleeing the area with their victim. Many villagers reportedly ran into nearby bushes for safety, while others remained locked inside their homes.
Community leaders have condemned the attack and called on security agencies to act swiftly to rescue the abducted woman and prevent further incidents. They expressed concern over the safety of residents, particularly vulnerable individuals such as women, children, and the elderly.
