Nigeria $668bn infrastructure market
Global and local investors have set their sights on Nigeria’s $668 billion infrastructure market as the Lagos International Infrastructure Expo opened with renewed optimism for the sector.
The three-day event, which brought together government officials, financiers, and industry leaders, focused on bridging the country’s infrastructure deficit through strategic investments and public-private partnerships.
Organisers highlighted Nigeria’s urgent need for modern roads, rail networks, power supply, and housing to unlock economic growth. With infrastructure financing pegged at an estimated $668 billion, participants stressed that collaboration between the private sector and government is key to delivering sustainable projects.
Speaking at the opening, stakeholders emphasized that Nigeria’s youthful population and expanding urban centers present major opportunities for investors. They also called for clear policies, transparency, and stronger institutional frameworks to attract long-term capital into the sector.
The expo featured exhibitions, panel discussions, and deal-making sessions designed to match investors with viable infrastructure projects. According to officials, outcomes from the event are expected to boost funding inflows and drive job creation in critical sectors.
