Anambra community donates funds Soludo re-election campaign
A prominent community in Anambra State has declared its full support for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, announcing a collective donation to fund his 2025 re-election campaign.
The community, comprising political leaders, business figures, and youth representatives, made the pledge during a solidarity meeting held at Isuofia, Soludo’s hometown, where they described the governor’s leadership as transformative and people-oriented.
‘Soludo has revived governance in Anambra’
Speaking at the event, community leader and industrialist Chief Uche Nwankwo said the contribution was a token of appreciation for Soludo’s developmental strides across the state.
“Our governor has redefined leadership. In just three years, Anambra has witnessed visible infrastructure renewal, improved security, and prudent governance,” Nwankwo said.
“We are not waiting for politicians from outside to fund his campaign — we, the people, will support him because we have seen the results of his vision.”
He added that the donations were voluntary, coordinated through a community trust fund aimed at supporting Soludo’s continuity project in line with state electoral guidelines.
Youths, women back initiative
The event also saw massive turnout from youth and women groups who praised Soludo for his empowerment initiatives, job creation programmes, and education reforms.
Mrs. Ngozi Okeke, a representative of the Anambra Women’s Collective, said women across the 21 local government areas have resolved to mobilise grassroots support for Soludo’s re-election.
“He has empowered thousands of women and youths through training and small business grants. We will stand by him because we believe in his leadership,” she said.
Soludo expresses gratitude, urges peaceful politics
Responding to the gesture, Governor Soludo, represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, expressed appreciation to the community, urging them to prioritise peaceful and issue-based politics.
“We are humbled by this show of love and confidence. Governor Soludo remains committed to good governance and inclusive development. He believes leadership should be about service, not self-interest,” Aburime stated.
He reminded supporters that political campaigns are governed by INEC regulations, assuring that the administration would continue to focus on delivering ongoing projects across the state before campaign activities officially commence.
Background
Governor Soludo, who was elected in November 2021 under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), is widely expected to seek re-election in 2025.
His administration has focused on road infrastructure, security reform, digital governance, and education.
Political observers note that his strong grassroots network and record of fiscal transparency may play a decisive role in shaping the 2025 Anambra governorship race.
