Crystal Palace head coach has confirmed that England defender Marc Guéhi is set to leave the club, with European giants Liverpool and Real Madrid closely monitoring the situation ahead of the January transfer window.
Speaking after Palace’s 2–1 victory at Selhurst Park, the coach revealed that Guéhi has communicated his desire to seek a new challenge, ending months of speculation about his future.
“Marc has been open with us. He feels it’s time for the next step in his career,” the manager told reporters. “He’s been professional throughout, and we’ll respect his decision when the time comes.”
Liverpool, Madrid lead chase
Guéhi, 24, has drawn strong interest from Liverpool, who are reportedly looking to bolster their backline following the departures of Joel Matip and ongoing concerns over Ibrahima Konaté’s fitness.
Sources close to the club suggest that Jürgen Klopp views Guéhi as an ideal long-term partner for Virgil van Dijk, given his composure, tactical intelligence, and leadership qualities.
