Diddy Celebrates Legal Victory as Assault Case is Dismissed
In February 2025, a sexual assault lawsuit filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs by an anonymous plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice in New York State Supreme Court.
The dismissal, reported on February 14, 2025, means the plaintiff cannot refile the case. Combs’ legal team hailed the dismissal as a victory, stating it was “yet another confirmation that these lawsuits are built on falsehoods, not facts,” and emphasized that no settlement was involved.
The lawsuit alleged that Combs drugged the plaintiff in the 1990s at a private “shadow party” in New York City, coerced her into group sexual activity, and prevented her from leaving. Combs’ attorneys have consistently denied all allegations of sexual assault or trafficking, asserting confidence in the judicial process to reveal the truth.
This dismissal adds to Combs’ legal wins, following his acquittal on racketeering and sex trafficking charges in a federal criminal trial in July 2025, though he was convicted on two lesser counts of transportation for prostitution.
