Driver Dies as Two Commercial Buses Collide in Lagos, Several Passengers
A commercial bus driver has died after two buses collided in Lagos on Tuesday morning, leaving several passengers injured and causing heavy traffic along the busy route. The tragic incident occurred in the early hours, at a time when many commuters were heading to work.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when one of the buses reportedly attempted to overtake another at high speed before losing control and ramming into the oncoming vehicle. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision, with emphasis on possible mechanical faults, excessive speeding, and reckless maneuvering.
The death of the driver has sparked renewed calls for stricter enforcement of road safety rules, improved driver training, and regular vehicle inspections to reduce the frequency of such tragic incidents.
