FCTA Director Joseph Eriki arrested over land forgery
The Director of Investigation at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Joseph Eriki, has been arrested over allegations of involvement in land grab forgery.
According to security sources, Eriki was taken into custody following petitions accusing him of falsifying documents to unlawfully allocate prime lands in Abuja. The arrest was carried out after weeks of surveillance and preliminary investigations linking him to a network of suspected fraudsters.
Authorities disclosed that forged land documents were recovered during the operation, and several individuals allegedly defrauded in the scheme have already come forward with evidence.
The FCTA has yet to issue an official statement, but insiders say the administration is under pressure to distance itself from corrupt practices and restore confidence in its land allocation process.
Anti-corruption advocates have praised the arrest, stressing that land-related fraud remains one of the biggest challenges in Abuja’s real estate sector. They urged investigators to ensure a thorough probe and prosecute all those found guilty.
