In a post on her Facebook page on Friday, January 23, 2026, Sinare recounted how the man’s behaviour changed after she encountered him unexpectedly in a public setting.
According to Sinare, the incident began when she saw her friend’s husband at a restaurant with another lady and approached him to say hello — an act she described as polite and respectful. Since that brief greeting, she says the man has repeatedly referred to her as his “bestie” and has become unusually familiar.
“Since that day ehn… this man has upgraded me to ‘bestie’,” she wrote, noting that every time he sees her now, he greets her with exaggerated enthusiasm. Phrases such as “eiii my bestiee has come oo” and loud laughter have become part of his greeting routine, she said.
Sinare also noted that the man has begun trying to be present whenever she meets with her friend for lunch, brunch, or dinner, leaving the filmmaker puzzled and sharing the situation for public commentary. “Help me understand this man oo or is he a fan now?” she asked in her post, adding that she is “tired of this by-force bestie thing all because of one helloooo at a restaurant.”
