Kayode Peters 50th birthday tribute
Family, friends, and colleagues in Nollywood have paid glowing tributes to Kayode Peters, the late actor and director, on what would have been his 50th birthday.
Peters, best known for his roles in stage plays and popular TV series, passed away in 2023, leaving behind a legacy that many in the entertainment industry continue to celebrate.
In emotional messages shared on social media, fellow actors described him as a talented storyteller, mentor, and visionary director who gave opportunities to young talents.
“Kayode wasn’t just an actor; he was a brother, teacher, and inspiration to many of us,” said a close colleague during a memorial gathering in Lagos.
Fans also joined in remembering his contributions to Nigerian theatre and television, with many recalling his role in pushing contemporary comedy and drama productions to wider audiences.
Though gone, Peters’ influence lives on through the many actors and filmmakers he trained, as well as the productions he helped bring to life.
Industry observers say his passing left a gap in Nollywood’s creative community but note that his works will continue to inspire future generations.
