Lady Confronts Street Preacher Using Microphone at Dawn, Calls Him ‘Jobless Fellow
LAGOS, Nigeria — A heated exchange broke out in a residential community after a young lady confronted a clergyman who was preaching loudly with a microphone in the early hours of the morning. The encounter, captured in a short video circulating on social media, has sparked a debate about noise pollution and religious practices in residential areas.
According to eyewitnesses, the preacher, known in the area for his routine morning evangelism, arrived shortly after 5 a.m. and began preaching with the aid of a portable speaker system. Residents who were still asleep or preparing for work were reportedly disturbed by the amplified sound.
The woman, visibly irritated, stepped out of her home to confront the preacher. In the viral clip, she accused him of disturbing the peace and referred to him as a “jobless fellow,” insisting that his activities were inconsiderate and disruptive. She argued that if he wanted to preach, he should do so without a microphone or at a more reasonable time of day.
The preacher attempted to calm her down, explaining that he was carrying out his “divine assignment” and that his intention was to spread the gospel, not to upset anyone. However, the woman stood her ground, insisting that residents deserved uninterrupted rest and that the preacher’s conduct amounted to harassment.

Environmental officials in several states have previously warned that the use of loudspeakers at odd hours violates noise pollution regulations, but enforcement remains inconsistent.
