Lagos Court Jails Man Two Months for Assaulting KAI Official
A court in Lagos has sentenced a man to two months’ imprisonment for assaulting an official of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) during an enforcement operation.
The ruling was delivered by a magistrate court in Lagos after the defendant was found guilty of attacking the official while the agency was carrying out its statutory duties. According to court proceedings, the incident occurred during a routine operation aimed at maintaining environmental order and enforcing state regulations.
Prosecutors told the court that the KAI official was performing lawful duties when the defendant confronted and physically assaulted him. The prosecution argued that such actions undermine public order and obstruct government efforts to enforce compliance with state laws.
