Lul Pab’s Mom Breaks Silence After Lil Durk’s Not Guilty Verdict
Lul Pab’s mother has spoken publicly following Lil Durk’s not guilty verdict in the federal murder-for-hire case connected to the 2022 shooting that killed her son.
The mother of Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson shared a brief message on social media after a federal jury acquitted Lil Durk of the charges against him. Her response appeared to focus on closure rather than anger following the end of the closely watched trial.
“I’m not mad, sad, upset, or crying. I’m glad this is over!!!” she wrote, adding, “Peace & Blessings… #LLPAB.” Her comments were reported by HotNewHipHop on September 15.
Lil Durk Found Not Guilty
Lil Durk, whose legal name is Durk Banks, was found not guilty on September 11 after a federal trial in Los Angeles.
The jury cleared the Chicago rapper of charges connected to an alleged plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo. Prosecutors had alleged that the attack was linked to the 2020 killing of King Von, a close friend and associate of Durk.
The 2022 shooting took place near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. Rondo survived the attack, but his cousin, Lul Pab, was fatally shot.
After three days of deliberations, jurors acquitted Durk of the federal charges, including conspiracy, murder-for-hire and stalking charges resulting in death.
Lul Pab Was the Victim of the 2022 Shooting
Lul Pab was 24 years old when he was killed.
According to prosecutors, the attackers were seeking to target Quando Rondo. The prosecution argued that the alleged plot was connected to the death of King Von in Atlanta in 2020.
Durk had denied involvement in the alleged murder-for-hire scheme. His defense team challenged the government’s evidence and the testimony provided by cooperating witnesses during the trial.
The jury ultimately found that the government had not established Durk’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt on the charges for which he was tried.
Mother Says She Is Glad the Trial Is Over
Lul Pab’s mother did not appear to celebrate Durk’s acquittal in her message.
Instead, her words suggested that she wanted to move forward after years of legal proceedings surrounding her son’s death.
Her statement was notably short. She said she was not angry, sad or crying and described herself as glad that the trial was over.
The message ended with “Peace & Blessings” and a reference to Lul Pab, keeping the focus on her son rather than the rapper who had been on trial.
Durk Remains in Federal Custody
Although Durk was cleared in the murder-for-hire case, his legal situation is not over.
The rapper remains in custody while awaiting a separate federal trial involving racketeering allegations. That case was separated from the murder-for-hire proceedings and is scheduled to begin in October.
The government has accused Durk of involvement in a criminal organization known as the Banks Gang Enterprise. Durk has not been convicted of those allegations.
The acquittal therefore does not mean that all of Durk’s federal legal proceedings have ended.
For Lul Pab’s family, however, the murder-for-hire trial has reached its conclusion. His mother’s message indicates that she is now looking toward closure after the lengthy case.
The verdict brought an end to one of the most closely followed legal battles in hip-hop, while the separate racketeering case remains pending.
