OnlyFans Model Courtney Clenney Sentenced to Six Years for Killing Nigerian Boyfriend
Former OnlyFans and Instagram model Courtney Clenney has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon in the 2022 stabbing death of her Nigerian-American boyfriend, Christian Tobechukwu “Toby” Obumseli.
Clenney, 30, entered the guilty plea in a Miami-Dade County courtroom on Monday, August 10, bringing an end to a case that attracted widespread attention for more than four years. Under the plea agreement, she received a six-year prison sentence, with credit for the time she has already spent in custody, followed by five years of probation.
Obumseli was 27 when he died after being stabbed at the couple’s luxury apartment in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood on April 3, 2022.
The case became the subject of intense public scrutiny because of the couple’s troubled relationship and conflicting accounts about what happened inside their apartment.
Clenney had originally faced a second-degree murder charge, which carried a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison if she had been convicted at trial. Instead, prosecutors and her defense team reached a plea agreement under which she admitted guilt to the lesser charge of manslaughter with a deadly weapon.
The sentence means that Clenney will not spend the full six years behind bars because she receives credit for time already served.
She has been in custody since her arrest in August 2022. Reports indicate that she has already spent nearly four years in jail awaiting the resolution of the case, meaning she is expected to serve approximately two additional years before beginning her probation.
Following her release, Clenney will remain under court supervision for five years.
She will also be required to undergo mental health evaluation and treatment as part of the conditions associated with her sentence.
The death of Obumseli occurred after a series of incidents involving the couple that investigators examined during the case.
Authorities investigated allegations of violence within the relationship, with prosecutors presenting evidence that included videos and other material documenting confrontations between the two.
According to reports, Obumseli had returned to the apartment after getting food for the couple when the fatal incident occurred.

Clenney’s defense maintained that she had been acting in self-defense and alleged that Obumseli had been abusive.

She spoke about the birthdays, holidays, conversations and other milestones that her son would never experience.

For Clenney, the plea agreement brings a formal conclusion to a legal battle that lasted more than four years.
Her case initially attracted widespread attention because of her social-media presence and career as an OnlyFans creator and model.
Following Obumseli’s death, however, the focus shifted from her online career to the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing and the criminal investigation that followed.
The case also sparked broader discussions about domestic violence, self-defense and how authorities handle allegations involving relationships in which both parties have accused one another of abusive behavior.
Clenney’s guilty plea means she has accepted criminal responsibility for manslaughter, although the circumstances that led to Obumseli’s death remain a subject of intense public discussion.
The six-year sentence is considerably shorter than the maximum punishment she could have faced under the original second-degree murder charge.
