Oyo to host Super Eagles
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared that the state is fully prepared to host the Super Eagles for their upcoming international fixtures.
Makinde made the announcement in Ibadan, noting that the government had invested heavily in upgrading sports facilities, particularly the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, to meet international standards.
“Oyo is ready. Our facilities, hospitality, and security arrangements are in place to welcome the Super Eagles and their fans,” the governor said.
He added that hosting the national team would not only boost youth engagement in sports but also promote tourism and the local economy.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is expected to confirm the venue after a final inspection, as part of its rotation of host states for the national team’s matches.
Football stakeholders in Oyo have praised the governor’s commitment, saying it will inspire young athletes across the Southwest.
