Poland FM Kyiv security talks
Poland’s Foreign Minister arrived in Kyiv on Thursday for high-level security talks, just hours after Ukraine repelled a major Russian drone raid that left parts of the capital region damaged.
The visit underscores Warsaw’s continued support for Ukraine amid escalating Russian attacks, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening regional security cooperation, air defense systems, and humanitarian aid.
Ukrainian officials confirmed that dozens of drones were launched overnight, with air defenses intercepting most of them. However, falling debris caused damage to residential buildings and power infrastructure, leaving several civilians injured.
Speaking upon arrival, the Polish Foreign Minister reiterated Poland’s commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, stressing that “Russia’s aggression threatens the entire region, not just Ukraine.” He also pledged to push for deeper European Union backing, including faster delivery of weapons and increased financial assistance.
The meeting comes at a time of heightened tensions, as both Kyiv and its allies warn that Moscow is intensifying aerial assaults to weaken Ukraine’s resilience ahead of winter.
