Police rescue kidnapped ex-lawmaker Imo
The Imo State Police Command has launched an operation to rescue a former lawmaker who was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen. The incident, which occurred in the southeastern state, has heightened concerns over the growing wave of abductions targeting politicians and prominent figures in the region.
According to reports, the ex-lawmaker was abducted on his way home when armed men intercepted his vehicle and whisked him away to an unknown destination. Eyewitnesses said the attackers shot sporadically into the air before escaping, causing panic among residents.
