The minister denied that the proposed visit had been cancelled indefinitely, suggesting instead that it is being postponed until diplomatic conditions improve.
Idris argued that the visit remains on the agenda and that Nigeria is committed to maintaining strong relations with the United States. He said that current geopolitical concerns and bilateral tensions require a careful approach to high-level engagements, adding that any decision to move forward will be based on Nigeria’s national interest and strategic timing.
