Wike medical trip abroad
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed widespread rumours claiming he traveled abroad for medical treatment.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, Wike described the reports as baseless and politically motivated, insisting that he has been fully engaged in his official duties within the country. He emphasized that he remains committed to delivering on President Bola Tinubu’s mandate to transform the FCT.
Wike accused detractors of attempting to distract him with false narratives, stressing that such tactics would not derail his focus on infrastructure development and urban renewal projects in the capital city.
“I am here in Abuja, working every day. Those spreading these lies simply want to create unnecessary panic,” he stated.
The minister’s clarification comes amid growing public speculation on social media about his health and whereabouts. Supporters have praised his transparency, while critics argue that government officials must always be upfront about their health status.
Observers note that Wike has remained one of the most visible members of Tinubu’s cabinet, often in the spotlight for his combative style and bold policy decisions in the FCT.
