FG Akwa Ibom affordable power supply
The Federal Government has announced plans to partner with the Akwa Ibom State Government to deliver affordable and sustainable power supply to residents.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ forum in Uyo, federal officials said the collaboration will focus on expanding power generation, upgrading transmission infrastructure, and improving distribution networks. The goal is to ensure that homes, businesses, and industries in the state have steady electricity at reduced costs.
Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno welcomed the initiative, noting that reliable power is critical for economic growth, job creation, and industrialization. He pledged the state’s support, including land allocation and incentives for private investors in the energy sector.
The Federal Ministry of Power emphasized that the partnership aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda, which prioritizes boosting energy access nationwide. Officials also disclosed that renewable energy projects would be integrated to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Residents and business groups in Akwa Ibom have expressed optimism, saying improved electricity could lower production costs and attract more investment into the state’s economy.
