Woman Arrested for Allegedly Torturing 17-Year-Old Maid with Hot Iron in Anambra
A woman has been arrested in Anambra State following allegations that she tortured her 17-year-old maid by burning her with a hot pressing iron, an incident that has triggered widespread condemnation and concern over child abuse and domestic violence.
According to reports, the incident occurred at the woman’s residence, where the teenage girl was employed as a domestic helper. The suspect is alleged to have inflicted multiple burns on the victim during a violent episode, leaving the minor with serious injuries.
Sources said neighbours and concerned individuals alerted authorities after noticing signs of abuse on the teenager. The victim was subsequently rescued and taken for medical attention, while the suspect was handed over to law enforcement agents.
