Anambra Police Give Update on Mother Arrested Over Alleged Child Abuse
The Anambra State Police Command has provided an update on the investigation involving a 36-year-old woman accused of using her child in sexually inappropriate content.

According to the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police have completed their investigation into the widely circulated video.
The case file has been forwarded to the DPP for further legal action. The suspect remains in police custody while the next stage of the legal process is being handled.
The police had also questioned the woman’s husband to determine whether he had any connection to the alleged offence.
Police Stress Protection of Children
The Anambra Police Command said protecting children remains a major priority in the case.
Commissioner of Police Nnanna Oji Ama directed officers to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the rescued children receive appropriate care and protection.
The command also said it would work with relevant child-protection agencies and support organisations to provide counselling and other assistance where necessary.
The authorities also acknowledged the role of residents, bloggers and vigilante operatives whose information helped bring the case to the attention of law enforcement.
Woman Arraigned Over Alleged Abortion for Daughter
In a separate development, the Anambra State Police Command arraigned a woman before the Gender-Based Violence Court sitting in Awka.
The cases involved allegations including defilement, sexual assault, child abuse, assault and unlawful procurement of abortion involving minors.
Other Child Abuse Cases Before Court
The police also brought several other suspects before the Gender-Based Violence Court.
Police Continue Child Protection Efforts
The latest cases highlight the continued efforts by the Anambra State Police Command to investigate allegations involving the abuse and exploitation of children.
The command said it remains committed to protecting children and other vulnerable people from sexual abuse, exploitation, violence and other forms of harm.
The allegations against all suspects remain subject to the legal process, and the courts will determine the outcome of the individual cases.
